It was founded in the middle of the 16th century, during the Wallachian Reform. At that time, the village belonged to the Erzvėtas estate, which was ruled by the Pacas. In 1602, they donated the estate and the village to the Tverečius church and monastery, and the village of 13 homesteads was declared an architectural monument.
