Exhibition of the project "ART'U (Art in the City - City in Art)"

On August 16–20, a plein air of artists dedicated to the celebration of Utena's 760th birthday took place in Utena. As many as 20 professional artists gathered in the plein air from Utena, Anykščiai, Zarasai, Molėtai, Ignalina districts immortalized the landscape of Utena city, architectural and cultural heritage objects, fragments of old Utena that have survived so far or newly created spaces.

The project “ART'U (Art in the City - City in Art)” is a realized opportunity to bring together artists of different generations from Utena and neighboring districts for a common goal: to convey their individual relationship with the city of Utena by participating in a painting plein air.

The plein air was attended by: Romualdas Pučekas, Algirdas Gaižauskas (Dusetos, Zarasai district), Jolanta Žalalienė (Molėtai), Živilė Kairytė, Giedrė Leitonė (Anykščiai), Nijolė Trinkūnienė, Audronė Krikščionaitienė (Ignalina), Galeniškiai Rimvydas Kviklys, Audrius Markūnas, Olga Meškuotienė, Daiva Miškinienė, Eugenijus Nalevaika, Aurina Paškevičienė, Lina Praudzinskaitė, Dalia Puodžiukienė, Gintaras Gesevičius (Kirdeikiai), Aurelija Kairytė-Smolianskienė (Indubakiai).

The artists' works were exhibited in Utena A. and M. Miškiniai Public Library and Utena Chamber Theater, Anykščiai District Municipality Liudvika and Stanislovas Didžiuliai Public Library. The exhibition will be on display at the Ignalina Regional Museum throughout November.
